Welcome to Apex2.0 - bringing you more internship opportunities, more often.
Based on feedback from our community, we’ve revamped our newsletter and are excited to share with you the new and improved version of Apex. Here’s what you can expect from our newsletter in the future:
We will be posting every Monday & Thursday. Each newsletter will have 3 sections:
Highlighted Opportunities: Startups in this section have partnered with Apex. You can apply to a Highlighted Opportunity through Apex, and we will share your resume directly with the founders.
Top 20 Opportunities: We will source the top 20 opportunities on LinkedIn, Handshake, and other hiring platforms for you. For these, you will need to apply directly through the companies link, not through Apex. We hope sharing the top opportunities outside of Apex will help you get more applications out faster!
Resume Breakdown: We’ll share an example of a resume, with our team’s notes on what is good and what can be improved. Feel free to take these tips and apply them directly to your resume.
In this format, we’ll be sharing far more opportunities and better advice with you so that you can land an internship quickly. And with that, let’s get started!!!
Highlighted Opportunities
Affiliate Partner At Humata.ai (apply here)
Humata recently launched their AI ChatBot for reading and summarizing academic documents and fact-checking references. If you’ve ever had to speedily read an academic paper before class (we’ve all been there), Humata makes it 10x easier to summarize papers, prepare discussion questions, and do it in 10 minutes or less. Their product recently went viral, so they are bringing on Affiliate Partners to share their ChatBot with more students (and make money along the way!) Here’s the logistics:
Work as much as you want (US-based students only).
Make 21% commission on sales you make (they already have some students doing really well and making upwards of 1K per month).
Humata has two plans: A $1.99 student plan and a $9.99 expert plan. Whichever plans you get people to sign up for, you’ll make 21% of!
Here’s how we’d do it: If you have access to email lists at your university, club chats, or have a ton of friends, you can share your affiliate link with them to get your friends to sign up. With finals around the corner, there really isn’t a better time for people to sign up for Humata!

Marketing Intern at Longsock
Longsock is an early-stage consumer startup that makes toys based on canine psychology to appeal to dogs’ natural instincts - not the dog parents’ expectations. Our toys exercise dogs’ minds and provide a safe outlet for natural behaviors, leading to fewer behavioral issues for dogs and peace of mind for their parents.
We are launching for pre-order in January with the new “Longsock” brand. Your role is to increase awareness of the brand and encourage customers to place “pre-order” orders on the website. You will lead three main channels - influencer gifting, partnerships, and organic social.
You will work side-by-side with the founder Natallia, learning by doing. At the end of this internship you will have an in-depth understanding of a number of cutting-edge grassroots brand marketing strategies. Longsock will pay for any additional coursework or classes to supplement your learning.
Here are the logistics:
Location: Remote (with a possibility of co-working in New York as desired)
Duration: January - April 2024
Type: Unpaid Internship
Time Commitment: 10 hours / week
Department: Marketing

Resume Breakdown
To share some insight into how you can make your resume better, we’ll be breaking down this sample resume from an Apex student. You can listen to the breakdown on our new spotify podcast (5 minutes long!) or read the highlights below:
Naming your document:
This resume was titled “PreferedResume (1).pdf” when it was sent to us! This isn’t a fatal mistake, but it can make your resume harder to find and make the recruiter do extra work by renaming it. Always name your resume something link FirstName_LastName_Date for the rest results!
Education:
This education is written in 3 lines, but could easily be condensed to 2 lines by either [1] removing the Major (which is already stated in the first line) or putting the major next to the school name. Keeping the education to 2 lines is best!
Skills
This student did a great job of listing their skills, but there are two ways they could improve it:
Put their proficiency level after each skill. For example, instead of just saying “Python”, you could say “Python (intermediate)”. And you can do this with any skill in computer science, marketing, or design!
This students says “etc.” when listing their skills in Microsoft office. Avoid saying “etc.”, which can be a little vague! List exactly what tools you know, and your level of proficiency in them.
Links
This student does a great job of linking to their past work and projects! (We have “whited-out” the links in the image above for privacy reasons). Recruiters and founders LOVE links - it makes your application stand out and can often display your capabilities better than a resume can. If you don’t already have links to your publicly available past work or projects, add them to your resume!
If you have any resume questions for us, leave them in the comments and we’ll answer you! You read 100% of all of our comments!
